LESS THAN JAKE...

so if you guys have been paying attention to any of the words coming out of my mouth and onto this blog, you would know that tonite is the big nite my friends. tonite is the nite when me and my buddies evan and phil get together and enjoy a show, up in St Pete at the infamous Jannus Landing, that is Less Than Jake. dude i can hardly wait it seems like its been such a long time since they have been here. their shows are always crazy and always get the people pumped up, especially phil who leaves us with a hat, camera, wallet, and shoes to go in the crazy circle pits during the show only to meet up with us later with no hat, half a wallet, shoes all destroyed and whats that in your hand? a camera thats all scratched up cuz you were taking pictures and then you dropped it which it then got kicked around by a dozen crazy pit people and then you recovered it picked it up and put it in your pocket for safe keeping until you met up with us again to give me back my camera at to which time i ask, 'did you get some good close ups?' :) anywho check back cuz im sure ill have to post some pix from the show and definately have a story or two to tell. oh yeah and i will have to rock out to a few songs for cheryl, wish you were coming with us. oh and dont worry, ill try and be nice to people, even if a fat guy runs into me and i shove him back with all my might only for him to hit me in the back of the head send me crashing into phil headfirst infront of me. that jerk. maybe ill see him again and trip him.

theres hope after all...

so for those of you that enjoy U2...cheryl has found a few other bands that take the cake....here they are for your reading pleasure....

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution- They Provide the Paint for the picture perfect masterpiece that you will paint on the insides of your eyelids
or
Demilich - "The Planet that Once Used to Absorb Flesh in Order to Achieve Divinity and Immortality (Suffocated to the Flesh that it Desired...)"

well i guess thats why these guys never made it on MTV. theres probably a requirement for your video to get on MTV the title of the song actually has to fit on the screen AND have room for the rest of the info not to mention some kind of video. wow these guys are creative.
oh but who could forget that great Fiona Apple song that was 90 words long, which i wont put on here cuz it would equal my last few posts.

The longest song titles...

k so heres the deal. im not sure if im the only one that has noticed this, or if it was just awkward to me, but U2 (the shortest band title ever) have the longest song titles ever. I was checking out all the channels at my fams house and came across MTV. well the show that was on had just ended and they showed a clip of a buzzcut, otherwise known as a new song, but you know MTV they gotta jazz everything up so people watch anywho. the clip was for a new U2 song titled 'Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own.' now it seemed a little funny to me that the screen, a tiny box in the first place, was taken up by just the title and left little room for bono's face and those crazy sun glasses. So i decided to look into this further and see if it was just hard finding a name for that song or if this was a normality for U2 songs. well i will let the following titles of other various U2 songs be the answer for you.

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Where The Streets Have No Name
Even Better Than The Real Thing
Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
I Threw A Brick Through A Window
Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
and finally....
Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around The World

man you think they would actually find a way to shorten those titles up or atleast try to make up a title that isnt just the basic line of the Chorus. I like U2's jams but come on how in the world could anyone write all those titles on the front of a cd they just burnt off their buddy. it just wouldnt work.

new template.

hey hey. hope you guys all had an enjoyable easter. i sure did. did a little easter egg coloring and easter morning egg hunt at the fam's house and just hung out. curtis came over, played some horseshoes, worked on chanas painting (yeah i know cheryl sorry bout the pineapple) just had an overall good day. ive decided to try a new format for my blog and see if this helps you guys that are coming up with funk on your screen that should otherwise be known as cha-cha vision. let me know if this template is better and how the font is. ive stuck to one type of font for every post ive made since last week and still it looks as though they are different so ill just keep picking the same ones and seeing what it gives me. kind of fun in a way ill never know what kind of font ill get, what a nice surprise and definately an initiative to check my blog out more than you usually would.well i think im gonna actually get started on my work day.

Easter Eve at the Bradley's...

so here i am, at my parents house...doing some laundry, watching some SNL, doing a few sketches, and putting a post on my blog which is obviously needed by the infamous blog junkie that keeps wanting more blog entries from both me and my sister cheryl, otherwise known as the beantown java junkie....just enjoyed a little music break by the band Keene on SNL...pritty good band that i think you should really check out...definately their new cd which reminds me of a mix between Coldplay and Mr.North, a band from Ireland that i got introduce to at a Live show (yes cheryl would be proud that i went to a Live show)...
speaking of shows....the Less Than Jake show is upon us my friends...this thursday only 5 days away is the big day up at Jannus Landing in St.Pete for the extremely overdue show from LTJ...my two concert buds, evan and phil, would definately agree :) completely stoked for this show and cant wait to see what the setlist holds for us....
so what do you get when you add various Less Than Jake songs + a little techno with a good beat = the new rare cd that LTJ is only selling on tour...cant wait to get it.....rockin!

What the font????

i cannot for the life of me figure out this dumb font system. everytime i choose arial and normal size it comes out too small. so the next time i try arial and large which is what im typing in now. comes out looking ok but when i use those exact same settings again it comes out looking completely different. i just want to find one setting that looks decent and is readable. is that so much to ask as a new blogger?? honestly.....

Today's Epitaph Weekly inspiration.....

"Throwin’ the goat, It’s… The Epitaph Weekly Newsletter!

Punk is no more mainstream now than it ever was. It is just more popular now
than it ever was. Yours and my favorite seventies punk bands were all on major
labels. As much as punk has always drifted in and out of the general public we
will never be considered normal in the minds of people who make their kids cover
their eyes when they see a dude with tattoos dressed up like Jesus (blood, cross
and all) at the largest tourist destination in Hollywood on a sunny Sunday
afternoon. A security guard actually said to us, “Your CRUCIFIX is a safety
hazard” before kicking us out. Dude, It’s just two pieces of wood roped
together, pretty crappy crucifix if you ask me… It’s not like we were being
purposefully offensive for the sake of our film or anything. Hell, they let Mel
Gibson get away with it. Anyway"

Two for Tuesday....

man two for tuesday is curtis' favorite day on the radio ;) no, not only do you get one....but two back to back songs from the same artist. if its a kickin band then its twice the entertainment, but if its a band that you can hardly stand its the longest two songs of your life. however there is that option of changing the channel but, honestly, how bad does it have to be to want to turn the channel from the station you obviously listen to religiously?!?! hmmm well have to ponder and explore that topic a little later, perhaps on another tuesday.

on another note, curtis the computer wiz got our laptop at home back up and running and it seems to be doing just fine, so that can only mean one thing....yes more posts from chacha from the convenience of her room....

and another note...heres a new cd that just came out today....you should go check it out....im sure JMG will...one question still stands...whatever will they do without dave grohl?????

somebody's got a case of the mondays...

ok so here i am posting at work again...this time on my lunch break. let me tell you today hasnt been the best monday. first of all we dont have any phones so there is no communication aside from the internet. i dont mind not talking to hassling insureds but it sucks that i cant make calls out to...oh i dunno say curtis on my lunch break :) now after an interesting mixup at taco bell, i have twice the tacos and nachos that i can eat. hopefully the rest of the day isnt as bad as it is now. guess ill just have to wait and see....

what are the odds...

sooo...i decide to get on my newly set up blog last nite after a nice dinner from the grill, and wouldnt you know....i log onto our laptop and i couldnt connect to the internet. we have the laptop in the bedroom so we had to put a longer connector cable inbetween our laptop and the phone jack. first thought was to check that cable. so we logged on to the pc out in the living room, of course that one logged on fine. so then we hooked the laptop directly into the phone line and that didnt connect us either. come to find out something is wrong with the modem....just my luck. i finally decided to stop pushing it off and set up a new blog and here i am in the second entry telling you that ill either be posting at work or not at all. what a bummer. guess well have to take it in and get it worked on. not a very nice ending to a nice weekend.
