so i almost missed it again. yup im such an illofriday slacker. but i cranked this one out tonite and just finished it. everytime i think of the summertime i think of huge sunflowers. dozens and dozens and dozens, just fields and fields full of them. so here is a little collage/marker/crayon/pen/pastel creation. its different and im still not sure how i feel bout it but i guess ill see what you guys think. lemme know. im sure you guys that visit my blog frequently have recognized my style and my approach to things, so with all that in mind you can make a good educated opinion on this one. i told myself that i was gonna start working on illofridays on the weekend so all i have to do during the week is put on the finishing touches. guess ill have to start that with next weeks illofriday. i did have alot going on this week though, including my grandmas 92nd birthday. yup thats right 92 and i guess what i bought her?!? a cute little blue and red betta fish, whose name is Sam. hes really kool and easy to take care of. hopefully he doesnt die within the next few days. anywho, leave me your criticism and enjoy my randition of summer.

You got the summer in this one. the sunflowers work great here. Not sure if the white bursts work aswell.

You should draw a picture of her and sam:)

Very bright and happy, Chacha ! But where are the bees ? Ya gotta have bees! Oh, well. I guess the bee union called a mandatory lunch break and all the workers were stuffing their faces with honey.
I'd give them a stern talking to about this, Chacha.
Next time you can spank them...

I love sunflowers - you know the giant kind? They sure do speak Summer. Also like the pencil overlay :)

Ok so Im back. Sorry ive neglected posting comments about your artwork. So this piece does make me feel summer but...i dunno about those white pencil lines. I dig the overlay of flowers, especially the ones with the thick borders. Id like to see them all have borders and then you could add some big bees like Steve mentioned.

yeah i should have had some bees in there but this is my happy summer picture. if it had bees then it wouldnt be so happy cuz bees sting ya and make your summer not so happy. been there done that. i didnt want all the squares to have borders, i wanted to mix it up and i like the white on top, alot of you dont but i think it adds some spark to it ya know a little summer brightness. plus without them it wouldnt have looked as chacha-esque as my other pieces. im working on my black & white, its gonna be awesome!!

OOooo yeah good point on the bees. Was it you or chana that stepped on the bee in the back yard that one day? Man that was nasty!

Trust Steve to bring Bees into the picture ... I like happy summers better, and I like your added Summer brightness. Just checking in to see whether your Black and White image is posted yet :)

no not yet but i am working on it and it should be finished either tonite or tomorrow nite. its turning out perfect so far i cant wait to see the finished product myself! just wish i could skip out on work and paint all day. now that would be perfect!!
